Elcie Cosmetics is an e-commerce makeup brand started by famous L.A based makeup artist Lilit Caradanian. I’ve been following the founder of this company from before it was created. I used to follow Lilit Caradanian when she used to go by the Instagram handle @MakeUpByLilit, I was obsessed with her ethnic look and the beautiful winged liner she easily created. So needless to say, I’ve been dying to try out her makeup for years. I logged on to the website and knew that I wanted three things: the foundation, The Minimalist eyeshadow palette and the sponge. Unfortunately the sponge was sold out but I did ask the company and they expect the sponge to come back in stock on April 2018. Then I searched the foundation and they had my shade! Victory! I picked up the eyeshadow palette and paid. The process was very quick and I actually got my items in 2 days. Now to the juicy part: did the products live up to the hype? Spoiler Alert 🚨: YES!
Micro Slique Foundation ($45):
The foundation applies seamlessly and was a really good color match. I wore it on a 18 hour work day/date night and it looked the same from when I applied it at 5:30am to when I took it off at 11:30pm. I also liked that it kept my oiliness at bay without dehydrating my skin (one of my complaints about the Huda Beauty #FauxFilter foundation). It is extremely full coverage, which I love, and a little goes a loooong way! I like applying it with a kabuki brush instead of a sponge because I feel like I can spread it out better than a sponge. I’m so happy that it lived up to the hype, I’ve been trying to get this foundation for about 3 years and it was definitely worth the wait.
If someone asked me what my dream palette was, I would say it the Minimalist palette. It has the only colors you will ever need and you can create from simple daytime to sultry smokey looks. This is my go-to palette to travel, I don’t leave Nashville without it. It has 5 basic colors: matte off white, light warm matte brown, orangey matte brown, chocolate matte brown and a simple matte black. I used this palette for two weeks straight after I got it that I actually had to force myself to use something else! The shadows are well pigmented, there’s not a lot of fallout and they blend like a dream.
In conclusion, I loved the products I bought and they are worth the hype. There’s a couple of other products that they have released that I am dying to try and I have no doubt are the same quality than the products I already have. Now I just need to get my hands on that damn sponge!
Thank you so much for reading, hopefully you’ll try these products out and love them as much as I did. Below are some pictures using the foundation and the eyeshadow palette.
